Our client is a cloud based Data Management and Protection SaaS solution provider based in Reading.  Their pioneering cloud data management solutions provide real-time data streaming across any devices, eliminating down time and the need for physical backup devices.

Our client is now looking for a Product Marketing Manager to work closely with the Head of Product and End-User Marketing in order to deliver the marketing plan. Our client is a 100% channel-focused business and in line with their business plan, they aim to scale rapidly by recruiting thousands of new partners (MSPs) across the world with the US being a primary focus area of their international expansion.

The Product Marketing Manager will be a leader on the team responsible for telling the world (and company) about our client’s product. You will be expected to be the chief advocate for our client’s voice and messaging portfolio features and benefits. Additionally, you will be charged with crafting the strategy around the messaging and marketing for new launches. You’ll be responsible for presenting our client’s products in ways that will strengthen our brand and boost sales. This role requires you to work across functions and departments to bring the to life product.

You’ll form part of a marketing team currently consisting of 10 people based across the UK and South Africa, and soon to be in the US market as our client continues to grow.  This is a great opportunity to join a disruptive SaaS business on an aggressive growth journey with huge ambitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine the type of advertising and marketing content that needs to be created and distributed.
  • Manage a calendar scheduling the creation of each piece of content and the planned release of each piece of content.
  • Work with in-house or external Writers and other content creators to create the desired content.
  • Outline a product timeline and oversee the project’s successful execution.
  • Create and manage budgets for the product.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors whose products or services will be needed for the product.
  • Together with the product team, educate both internal and external stakeholders on our client’s product features and their benefits.
  • Create content [website] sales documentation, product videos, website copy, blog posts) to articulate the benefits of our client’s products to the world.
  • Assist sales on calls when appropriate to provide deeper dives into the product.
  • Speak and present both internally and externally to promote the story of our client’s product.
  • Measure and optimize the partner journey as it relates to product feature adoption and usage.
  • Study company products
  • Translate technical details into benefits for the user
  • Follow and analyse market trends to position products
  • Develop product marketing strategies (pricing, advertising, product launching)
  • Craft compelling messages across marketing channels (landing pages, ad campaigns)
  • Work with various teams (design, content, acquisition, product, sales) to implement strategies
  • Test marketing product features, releases and ad copy
  • Evaluate projects using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective customers

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role with 5+ years total marketing experience
  • Knowledge of the US MSP market (highly desirable)
  • Sound understanding of the US data protection market including major competitors, key market trends and key influencers. (highly desirable)
  • Experience of working in a channel marketing environment / SaaS business.
  • Moderate technical knowledge/capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — there is a heavy amount of writing, presenting, and selling ideas in this role.
  • Ability to lead projects and work within cross-functional team environments.
  • Well organized with effective time and activity management skills, goal-oriented.
