World Health Day 2025: Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures

World Health Day, on 7 April, is a World Health Organisation (WHO) initiative to educate the public on health issues and to advocate for change in the health sector. It also coincides with the anniversary of the WHO’s founding in 1948.

The theme of World Health Day 2025 is ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’ and the day aims to raise awareness about gaps in maternal and newborn survival and the need to prioritise women’s longer-term wellbeing.

Why Early Health Interventions Matter

Good health starts at the very beginning of life, and ensuring access to quality healthcare, nutrition and mental wellbeing from an early age lays the foundation for a healthier future. Whether it is preventive healthcare, early mental health support or fostering healthy workplace environments, investing in health at all stages of life leads to stronger individuals and communities. Companies that embrace the concept of their employees’ wellbeing see higher productivity, lower absenteeism and positive workplace morale.
