Project Manager – Mechanical/Environmental (Cork, Ireland)

Role Purpose

To manage and coordinate the design, construction, commissioning, and handover activities associated with on-site Mechanical and Process upgrade works.

Preferably with 5 years experience and suitable qualifications within the Mechanical Engineering and or Environmental Engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Management, supervision, and coordination of a team of foremen, engineers, safety personnel & document control and field installations
  • Representing the interests of the project at client meetings & participating in and documentation of project coordination meetings
  • Monitor and document job site safety and accident prevention.
  • Construction planning & scheduling
  • Procurement and expediting of material & equipment
  • Mechanical and systems coordination
  • Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting
  • Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
  • Project closeout including the handover of the completed safety file
  • Implementing all applicable Safety Programs and EEO/Affirmative Action Programs on the Project
  • Coordinate process mechanical services and cleanroom validation where necessary
  • Undertake regular formal inspections of sites and consultants’ work in accordance with company policy
  • Prepare progress reports and technical reports for clients and for internal use
  • Timeline planning of all installations from awarding of the contract to completion and handover of all documentation including planning and overseeing the commissioning & validation of the plant and mechanical systems
  • Management of EPS performance against Contractual KPI’s
  • Management of the on-site PSDP & PSCS duties and responsibilities.
  • Develop and encourage a culture of innovation and initiative in all matters HSQE. Embrace the fundamentals of Communication —Co-ordination —Co-operation and Collaboration
  • Management of site Documentation: – Signage – Audits – Method Statements – Reports – Site sub-contractor documentation. A full-time HSQE officer will be provided to support.
  • Management of day-to-day communications & documentation with the ER and site RE staff, by way of a positive and proactive approach to working in a team environment via excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Coordination of all EPS internal aspects of the project deliverables. This includes mechanical and electrical works and associated documentation. Preparation and completion of handover documentation, testing, commissioning, and process proving documentation.
  • Management of day-to-day communications & documentation with EPS Civil Sub-Contractors including Civil Design co-ordination between EPS civil designers and EPS civil sub-contractors.
  • Coordination of Environmental & Ecology requirements.
  • Maintain a site report sheet daily to capture, the times of all personnel on-site, a brief description of work done, and RE instructions. Delays – ESB etc (Mobile Work Order in development to track times on-site and areas of work being carried out but good practice to maintain diary until MWO is fully trialed and tested)
  • Update works program as required.
  • Provision of monthly site reports.
  • Carry out other relevant tasks as required from time to time by management

Qualifications

  • Proven experience & ability to manage, mentor, and improve team members.
  • Proficiency in PC skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Experience in mechanical & Electrical design and ability to review and interpret specifications.
  • Experience and knowledge of various process designs in the Water & Wastewater Treatment sector.
  • Proving track record in delivery of projects with a mechanical & electrical focus.
  • Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Have a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and wastewater Industry.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of projects with a strong emphasis on H & S.
  • Third-level Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering degree/Diploma or craft Qualification would be an advantage.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Full clean driving license
