Artificial Intelligence (AI):

AI’s increasing influence on our working lives is undeniable. From crafting LinkedIn posts to streamlining recruitment, its pervasive reach is impossible to ignore. This powerful tool, poised to revolutionise industry, offers both immense potential and significant ethical considerations. In a world increasingly dominated by AI, let’s not forget the heart and soul of recruitment: you got it – us, humans – living, breathing, emotional, imperfect humans.

AI in 2025: A powerful tool, but not a replacement. It is there to enhance, not eliminate, human expertise.

Hybrid/Remote:

2025 is shaping up to be a year of further refinement for both hybrid and remote work. While the initial surge of remote work/digital learning during the pandemic has somewhat stabilised, flexible work arrangements remain a cornerstone of modern workplaces. Certainly, in my experience, candidates almost favour the working environment flexibility an employer can offer over the salary. We can expect to see a continued evolution of hybrid models, with companies experimenting with different schedules and office configurations to optimise productivity, employee satisfaction and, of course, employee wellbeing. With the enhancement of technology making it easier than ever to connect across the globe, the requirement for hybrid/remote working schedules will only increase.

Branding/Social Media:

Branding and social media have completely modernised the way companies recruit talent and vice versa. A strong employer brand attracts candidates by showcasing company culture, values and employee experiences. Social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, have become hugely powerful tools for recruiters to use in order to connect with candidates, share job openings and generally engage with the talent community.

2025 promises to super-charge the impact of social media on recruitment. With cutting-edge tech integrations, these platforms will become even more potent tools for attracting the best candidates.

Candidate Experience

Inevitably, the rise of working remotely has expanded the global talent pool, shifting the power dynamic in favour of candidates. Never before have we seen candidates realistically almost having the upper hand in the recruitment process. Companies must actively promote their employer brand and prioritise employee experience while highlighting the critical importance of employee mental health. Make no mistake, top talent is watching, and organisations that fail to create a compelling and positive candidate experience risk losing out.
